If anger is unfair, Explain your Side / Take a Break
Teacher Notes
In Lesson 2, the focus was on a specific technique to cope with anger that was fair. In this lesson, we focus on what to do if the anger is unfair or untrue. We call this process, "Explain Your Side." We also show the "Taking a Break" process as a way to cool a problem situation.

Video Introduction
Today, Chester introduces us to Morganne and her friends. They're playing a friendly game of "War" when Dominic gets angry and says that she is cheating. This anger is unfair since Morganne didn't cheat. She's upset and needs to talk to Dominic. There are three ways she can respond. She can be COLD, she can be HOT or she can BeCool.

Discussion
We just saw three ways to react to unfair anger. We can feel sorry for ourselves and become quiet. That's called being COLD. We can be mean and angry. That's called being HOT. Or, we can be COOL Morganne was COOL when she "Explained Her Side" to Dominic and then suggested "Taking a Break" so everyone could cool off. Also, in an Alternative Ending, Morganne stayed COOL even when Dominic did not stop calling her a "cheater."
