- Discuss the role of film and television critics with students. (It might be helpful to read one or two movie or TV reviews to the students.)
- Explain to students that they will assume the role of "People "
- Have students write reviews of themselves, assessing how they deal with others in social situations. Student self-reviews might include answers to these questions:
- Am I loyal? honest? trustworthy?
- Do I apologize when I ought to?
- Do I exercise self-control?
- Do I clear up misunderstandings?
- Do l accept others' strengths and weaknesses?
- Have each student choose one person (this may be another classmate or someone outside the classroom) to whom he or she can present the review. Tell students they should choose a person they trust to give them valid comments on the self-review.
- Have students present the review to that person and ask for insights.
