Making the Effort - an Overview

The MAKING THE EFFORT program was developed to teach social behaviors to secondary students who have mild cognitive impairments. MAKING THE EFFORT includes several elements:

• HARD WORK Workbook - A student workbook comprised of worksheets in a PDF format that emphasize the relationship between success and effort.
• TEACHER'S GUIDE TO HARD WORK - A lesson-by-lesson guide that suggests strategies and activities for motivating students.
• SOFT SKILLS Workbook - A student workbook comprised of worksheets in a PDF format that emphasize the relationship between social skills and social success.
• TEACHER'S GUIDE TO SOFT SKILLS - Like the first Teacher's Guide, a guide that provides lesson-by-lesson strategies.
• **SOCIAL MOMENTS™ SITUATION CARDS Cards -*that can be used to extend into your classroom opportunities to try out and refine their social judgment and skills.
