Discussion

Gus makes extra money on the weekend by painting houses. Here we see him talking with a prospective client about painting his house. The homeowner and Gus agree that Gus will be paid $500.00 to paint his house. The homeowner says, "Paint the house, I'll pay you when you're finished." Before deciding to trust the homeowner, Gus asks the four Smart Trust Questions:

  1. How well do I know this person? He's a neighbor, but I don't know him well.
  2. Has this person shown that he or she is trustworthy? No, I've never had a chance to find out.
  3. Has this person been hurtful to others? I've never seen or heard of him hurting others.
  4. How do I feel about offering my trust to this person? It feels okay.
