Students will:

  • Identify developing good relationships as an activity that brings feelings of happiness

Discussion

Ask: ‘’What is happening in this picture?” The girls in this picture have gotten together to have a good time. They are talking, laughing, and enjoying each other. They are friends. Making friends and having good relationships make people happy. Ask: “Do you know why?“ People like companionship; they like to have someone to share with, to have someone to play with, and to help them feel better when things aren’t going well. Caring for other people satisfies a basic human need. It is a good idea to have at least one close friend and to put effort into making the friendship a good one. Having a good friend will bring more happiness into your life.

Ask: ‘’What makes you happy being around a friend?” ‘’What can you do to make a friend?”
