Dear Parent or Guardian:
As you know, child sexual abuse occurs at an alarming rate. TV programs, newspapers, and online platforms carry stories that constantly remind our children of dangers. Many of you have already talked with your children to help them recognize sexual abuse and to help them know what to do if they are approached.
We are pleased to have a resource to offer our children: CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE: A SOLUTION, REVISED 2025 EDITION, a video series for parents, teachers, and students. This series uses a gentle approach to provide examples to children of how sexual abuse might happen and what they can do if something like it happens to them. The message is: Your body belongs to you, and you can control who touches it. If someone touches you in a way you don’t like or asks you to do something that makes you uncomfortable, you can say “NO,” get away and tell someone.
Children can prevent sexual abuse if they recognize what’s happening in time and know what to do. This information is an important part of any child’s safety training.
