About the Illustrator

Vivien Cohen graduated from the Pratt Institute School of Fine and Applied Arts and was trained as a medical illustrator at the Long Island School of Medicine. In her career as a freelance artist and medical illustrator, she has illustrated many books and educational materials for such well-known authors as Winifred Kempton, Sol Gordon, Eric Johnson, and Mary Calderone. As a parent of a son with special needs, Mrs. Cohen has worked extensively with schools and organizations which advocate for persons with disabilities. She lives with her husband and son in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
