Lesson 3: Objectives

Students will:

  1. Identify what peer pressure is.
  2. Identify some common ways that people might try to exert peer pressure.
  3. Identify negative consequences of HOT and COLD responses to peer pressure bullying.
  4. Identify the LOOKING, THINKING, AND ACTING elements of a COOL response to peer pressure bullying
  5. Demonstrate understanding of why the COOL response of using "Peer Pressure Refusal Skills" can be effective when confronted with peer pressure bullying
  6. Identify benefits of using the BeCool response to peer pressure bullying
  7. Recall and model the three steps of the BeCool response to peer pressure bullying: LOOK cool, THINK COOL and ACT COOL using "Peer Pressure Refusal Skills."

Optional Objectives:

  1. Recognize the perceptual-cognitive styles of HOT, COLD and COOL responses to peer pressure bullying.
