Lesson 2: Behavior Development Activities

  1. Ask students to discuss instances when they've reacted to sexual harassment or other bullying in a COLD or HOT way.
    • Have students identify the LOOKING, THINKING, AND ACTING elements of these COLD and HOT responses.
    • Have them roleplay these COLD and HOT responses.
    • Have students identify the LOOKING, THINKING AND ACTING elements of a COOL response in the same situation.
    • Have students roleplay the COOL response for these situations.
  2. Have students roleplay the following situations using HOT, cold and COOL responses and the "Talk The Talk" (Ask to Stop/Get Help) process. Be sure to give them ample time to practice using the 4-Step Plan. You may draw from the following examples or tailor the role plays to fit your students' life experiences
  3. You're having lunch in the schoolyard and have laid your new jacket on the bench next to you. Two bullies that you know are not dangerous come up and want you to "give them your new jacket." What do you do?

You and a friend are at the skateboard park in the neighborhood when you encounter three dangerous-looking bullies that you don't know. They want to play with your skateboards. What do you do?
