Students will:
- Identify what teasing is and why people tease.
- Understand the difference between friendly and unfriendly teasing.
- Identify negative consequences of HOT and COLD responses to friendly teasing.
- Identify the LOOKING, THINKING and ACTING elements of a COOL response to friendly teasing.
- Demonstrate understanding of why the COOL response of "Ignore" can be an effective response to friendly teasing.
- Demonstrate understanding of why the COOL responses of "Laugh It Off/Change the Subject" can be effective responses to friendly teasing when "Ignoring" doesn't work.
- Identify benefits of using the BeCool response to friendly teasing.
- Recall and model the three steps of the BeCool response to friendly teasing: LOOK COOL, THINK COOL, and ACT COOL using the "Ignore/Laugh It Off/Change the Subject" process.
- Identify additional courses of action that are available if the BeCool response doesn't work.
Optional Objectives:
- Recognize the perceptual-cognitive styles of HOT, COLD, and COOL responses to friendly teasing.
