Lesson 2: Specific Objectives

Students will:

  1. Understand that when faced with disrespect in the form of peer pressure, each one of us has the power to decide how we feel and how we will respond. (See Teacher Notes below for details.)
  2. Model using imagery and The BeCool (Rational) Self-Talk Process to cope with examples of disrespect in the form of peer pressure.

Optional: (for students who are capable of understanding how beliefs can affect feelings and behavior):

  1. Understand why the beliefs "If I say no, people won't respect me" and "If other people say it's OK, it must be OK" are "thinking errors.'
