Giving up or "COLD" responses usually involve helpless appearance, negative self-statements, sadness, withdrawal, or avoidance. COLD responses include:
Looking COLD: The Victim Look
- Head down, no eye contact with others.
- Body bent over.
- Sad facial expression.
- Timid body movements.
Thinking COLD:
- "This always happens to me."
- "There's nothing I can do about it."
- "If I speak up, it won't do any good."
Acting COLD:
- Do or say nothing.
- Mutter or speak with low voice volume.
- Cry.
- Leave or avoid the person.
