Lesson 1: Objectives

Students will:

  1. Identify what a COLD or giving up response is.
  2. Identify the negative effects of a COLD response in coping with difficult people and situations.
  3. Identify what a HOT or blowing up response is.
  4. Identify the negative effects of a HOT response in coping with difficult people and situations.
  5. Identify what a COOL or being in control response is.
  6. Identify the three steps of the BeCool response: LOOK COOL, THINK COOL and ACT COOL.
  7. Understand the symbolism of the "sunglasses" and the "3-note whistle" in the LOOK COOL step.
  8. Recognize the response choices and their consequences in the THINK COOL step.
  9. Identify the benefits of a COOL response in coping with difficult people and situations.
